Uses of Lavender

Hi all. Just to reiterate a few points, Lavender is great for our health and soul. Nothing is better than something natural that gives you a sense of calm to deal with the pressures of daily life! Nothing quite beats Lavender and as you read on, you will know and appreciate the fantastic powers of Lavender.

Ways of using Lavender:

1.  If you are experiencing a headache; be it tensional or a migraine, lavender oil can be applied ndiluted onto the skin.  Massage a few drops into the temples on your head to relieve the headache.  You could also apply the oil onto your wrists and palms and gently massage it into the nape of your neck to aid relaxation.

2.  Use it as an antiseptic to relieve pain and irritation from small burns, cuts, bites and stings, and after ear and other piercing (yikes).

3.  Add 1 to 4 drops of pur lavender oil per tablespoon of base oil (eg sweet almond oil) for a simple massage oil.

4.  Add 4 drops to 100 ml distilled water fora refreshing facial cleanser.

5.  Add a few drops to bath water to help you relax and relieve pain and discomfort.  For women, this will
help relieve menstrual cramps.

6.  Put a small sachet of dried lavender close to your pillow to help you sleep or spray some lavender scent
onto your clothes sto keep fabric smelling fresh and keep clothes moths away.

7.  Drop 2 to 4 drops of pure lavender oil in 2 to 3 cups of boiling water; inhale vapours for headache,
depression or insomnia.

8.  Classic : drop a few drops of lavender oil in water in an oil burner to give a relaxing armoa.  Ditto.

Note to all : Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid using lavender as a precaution.
